“KPop Demon Hunters” – How this movie relates to your life today!

IYKYK

If the new Netflix drop resonated with you in a powerful way, it’s because there is a lot of reality to what you’ve just takin in!  This Asian pop culture sensation is bringing to your heart some truth from a 2000 year old sacred text… the Bible.

We read in Scripture about the invisible spiritual battle all around us today.  In the movie, the foe’s name was Gwi-Ma.  In the Bible, his name is Satan.

But his aim is the same:  To lie to you, and cause you to believe his lies!

And his lies are all about who you are.  Satan wants you to live in shame, he wants you to feel worthless, to feel hopeless, unlovable, or even feel like you are a mistake.  He wants his lies to be your identity!

As a result, you may hide your feelings, hide your past evil deeds, hide your weaknesses.  But just like with Rumi from the movie, they ultimately bubble up and affect your life today, no matter how hard you try and stuff them away.

In the movie, it was the Huntrix girls who brought a beautiful song to the world to free themselves and others from the lies that bound them.

And today, true believers bring a beautiful song to the world as well.  And this beautiful song is the gospel.  The gospel is good news, because it’s good news of the beauty of Jesus Christ.

* Jesus Knows You – Jesus knows the true you!  He knows your good, and he knows your bad.  He knows your shame, he knows your evil deeds.  There is no one in the world who knows you as deeply as Jesus does.  You can be fully transparent to Jesus, like with no one else!

* Jesus Loves You – Despite knowing your faults, Jesus loves you.  His love for you is so strong that he came down to earth to die on the cross to pay the penalty for your evil deeds, past, present, and future.  And He resurrected on the third day, in order to free you from the stronghold of Satan’s lies.

Jesus offers this freedom to anyone who will hear his “song”, and choose to believe in Him, and turn to Him.

Will you do that right now?  If this expresses the desire of your heart, I would suggest you pray this to Him now, something like this:

“Dear Jesus, I am tired of trying to hide my shame.  Thank you for knowing me and loving me, and choosing to die for my evil deeds.  I believe in you.  I want you in my life.  Please cleanse me from my past, and guide me to follow You in freedom the rest of my life.  Amen.”

If this is the first time you came to Jesus in this way, congratulations!  You are now a new creation in Jesus!

Join with others who have been set free by Jesus as well.  Find a good church, where you see the beauty of Jesus in the people.  Join hands and sing the song of Jesus with them, and live your life in the true freedom Jesus offers as you follow Him!
